Meiji Period


Each of square section with circular foot and lip, each vase decorated with two main panels depicting elegant figures in extensive landscapes in spring and autumn; the other sides with subsidiary shaped panels depicting various scenes among gold wisteria; all against a midnight blue ground; undersides with the Shimazu crest and artist's seal.

Height 12 1/2 in., 31.8 cm.
